Welcome to the public consultation website for Birch Hill Homes Ltd's proposals to deliver up to 190 high-quality family homes on land off Birch Hill Road, Antrim.
The proposed development includes new family homes with associated carparking, private and communal amenity space, hard and soft landscaping, new access arrangements from Birch Hill Road, improvements to the Birch Hill Road/Stiles Way junction, and a new pedestrian crossing providing a safer connection to Steeple Park. This website provides information on the proposals and explains how you can share your views as part of the Pre-Application Community Consultation (PACC) process.
Please submit your feedback by 5pm on Friday 4th September 2026, so that it can be considered before the plans are finalised and submitted as part of a full planning application to Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council.

Where is the site?
The site is located to the north of the Stiles Way/ Birch Hill Road junction, Antrim and extends to approximately 8.9 hectares in size. The land was formerly developed as the former St Malachy’s High School.
The site is conveniently and sustainably located in close proximity to a range of shops and services including Antrim Town Centre and The Junction both 1.5km distant. Six Mile and Parkhall Primary Schools and Parkhall Integrated College and Antrim Grammar School are also situated less than 1 km from the site and Antrim Area Hospital is just 750 metres distant.
In respect to local community infrastructure, Steeple Park with equipped children’s play, mixed use games area and open grass is located immediately opposite the site on Stiles Way.
Bus stops immediately adjacent to the site north and south bound provide excellent access to public transport provision.

Before finalising and submitting the planning application to Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council, the project team is inviting the community to comment on the plans and share your feedback.
